【Procurement Policy】

Marubeni Techno Rubber Corporation establishes a procurement policy based on the "Basic Policy on Sustainability in the Supply Chain" of the Marubeni Group, and aims to achieve sustainable procurement of natural rubber by prioritizing the following key items. This policy applies to all natural rubber transactions of Marubeni Techno Rubber Corporation worldwide (Marubeni Techno Rubber Corporation conducts trading business in natural rubber).

1. Compliance with laws and regulations

  • Compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the country concerned and the countries involved in the transaction
  • Thorough prevention of corruption

2. Maintenance of a healthy and functioning ecosystem

  • Transactions with suppliers who are not involved in the development of High Conservation Value (HCV) forests, High Carbon Stock (HCS) forests with high carbon storage, or peat swamp forests (deforestation or HCV degradation before April 1, 2019, is not covered by this policy)
  • Transactions with suppliers who consider environmental conservation and biodiversity
  • Transactions with suppliers who consider the safety, health, and labor conditions of employees
  • Transactions with suppliers who are not involved in child labor, forced labor, or other human rights violations
  • Transactions with suppliers who strive to respect the human rights and culture of indigenous peoples based on international standards such as the "United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples," the "International Labor Organization Convention No. 169 Concerning Indigenous and Tribal Peoples in Independent Countries," and "the principle of free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC)".
