Efforts to Address Climate Change

We will promote the greening of existing businesses and the development of new green businesses to contribute to the construction of a decarbonized society.

Contribution Areas to SDGs

Expansion of Green Business

  • We will promote tire recycling through the practical use of regenerated carbon black (rCB) derived from waste tires.
  • By promoting the automatic tire wear detection business, we will contribute to maximizing tire life.
  • We will promote the development and expansion of green products, including synthetic rubber certified by ISCC PLUS.
※ISCC PLUS: An international certification for sustainable products made from biomass and recycled materials.

Resource Conservation

  • We will contribute to energy and resource conservation through electricity savings and switching to alternative power sources in our offices.

Establishment of LCA System

  • We will establish a system for visualizing greenhouse gas emissions throughout the product life cycle and propose optimal transportation methods and products.
※LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) is a methodology for quantitatively evaluating the environmental impact of a product or service throughout its entire life cycle, including resource extraction, raw material production, product manufacturing, distribution and consumption, and disposal or recycling.

Supplychain Management

We will work to resolve issues throughout the entire supply chain and promote the construction of a sustainable supply chain.

Contribution Areas to SDGs

Formulation of Natural Rubber Procurement Policy

  • We will formulate a natural rubber procurement policy based on the "Sustainability Basic Policy for Supply Chain" of the Marubeni Group.
  • Following the procurement policy, we will work to ensure traceability through on-site visits and other means to promote the sustainable procurement of natural rubber.

Certification Acquisition

  • Our company has obtained ISCC PLUS certification, an international certification for sustainable products that use biomass or recycled raw materials.
  • We also strive to increase the percentage of certified products in our handled products by promoting efforts to obtain FSC certification, a certification given to products made under sustainable forest management for the environment and society, to our business partners.

Transition to a Circular Economy

  • We utilize our Technical Center not only for research and development, but also for quickly identifying the causes of and responding to various issues faced by our clients. The Technical Center is an organization that designs the rubber formulation of products and manufactures and evaluates rubber product samples for testing purposes.

Stable Supply

  • We will leverage the Marubeni Group network to explore new supply resources around the world.
  • We will establish a resilient and sustainable supply chain that can adapt to external environmental changes, and achieve a stable supply of rubber-related materials.

Human Resource Management

We aim to create an environment and organizational structure in which employees can take pride and find fulfillment in their work, enabling them to proactively engage in their duties.
